Can and Shell
oil on panel
11" X 14"
2013

To juxtapose the beauty of a collected sea shell with a crushed tin can, found as a piece of debris in the road, is to compare the simple beauty of two vessels, created in such different ways, with different purposes, and different stories, but with such similarity in their final conveyance of the simple pleasure of light and form.
